4FORE4

That's right, I make boys lots of boys then I turn them into men. Would of loved a little girl but I make the boys . Ultrasound today and it's a boy. It was one wierd, or strange, or I dont know how to say it, moment telling dad I was going to give him another grandchild days before he died. Knowing he was going to move on, some how hoping it would ease his passing having yet another grandchild to carry his seed on. His legacy flows through our bodies ,his will through our minds, his love in our hearts. God be praised. I do love my boys, thank you pop

Dad as Movie Star...

Well this is what I get for being busy and waiting too long.
All the obvious choices have been taken: Harrison Ford, Sean Connery, Captin Kirk, and the Rockford Files guy (James Garner?) oh and wow! good call and bit of history on Buck Rodgers there Dana. I would have picked one of the first three. So I guess the common thread here rugged good lucks and an on screen persona of ruff -n- ready adventurer. So I can agree to all that definitely. Well since I'm picking up the scraps here... here's my substandard pick... more of a singer (and one Dad admired) than a movie star but he did get on screen a time or two...
Kris Kristofferson.

Gil Gerard A.K.A. Buck Rogers

I wasn't going to post simply because everyone got to my "first choices" before me, but I post Gil Gerard for the simple reason that he & Dad went to school together (Catholic High) and while a few years apart, did know each other as acquaintances and did play basketball together a time or two. I was also a HUGE Buck Rogers fan, and I loved to get out Dad's yearbook and find Gil Gerard's autograph!! He, being humble, never seemed to understand my fascination with his tie to Hollywood.

Thinking of movie & T.V. stars, and reading of one of Adem's favorite memories, one of mine is kind of funny. Dad used to stay up late watching T.V. He'd sit in his recliner and watch whatever was on--movies, infomercials, whatever--until the wee hours. So, he was usually up when I came in from curfew. That late at night was usually horror movies, and when I'd come home, I'd go in the living room and sit on the couch to finish out the latest "Nightmare on Elm Street" that was on. By the end of it, even at 17 years old, I'd be in the recliner with him. On the night I stayed overnight in the hospital, it was late and we were up watching T.V. I looked at him and asked if he wanted to flip and see if Nightmare on Elm Street was on. We both had a good laugh.

Sean Connery and Indy

Rob and dad both have the Harrison Ford Look and presence I think . It's red october Sean Connery that gets my pick in the end. The look, the captain, the do whats right for man kind, and the sacrafice. On a different note I remember dad washing my hair when I was 5 or 6 its one of my favorite memories becuase he was careful not to get soap in my eyes. He used a big measuring cup, the plastic kind and made sure the water was right and all that good stuff.

Robert

Robert, I think you look like Dennis Quaid... John taught me how
to post a picture, I just hope I can remember how to do next
time... I am slow in learning all this new technology but you all
have to remember that I did not grow up in the age of technology.
I guess I was still part of the industrial age.

Movie Star!!!

The Rockford Files and Star Treck... not movies ... 70s TV shows.

I watched these shows as a young girl and thought my dad was like James T Kirk and Jim Rockford. Maybe not so much how they looked, but you know... daring and dashing and wise and funny. DO-gooders. I have not seen an epsiode of The Rockford Files in years... I think the guy was a little scruffy / fly by the seat of your pants type. That obviously doesn't remind me of Dad but something about him did. He was a "good guy". Seriously, I thought my dad was Captian Kirk. I was so proud of him. Now that I look at the photos I think they were also kind of big chested like dad and he was sporting those sideburns in the 70s. Oh, this is rambling but cute, the other night from the bathtub, Rohan held up a cup of water to me and said that he had made a potion to let Grandpa come back from heaven and he would be back tomorrow. ah well.
I give Dana the "your comment ought to be a post" award again. so cute about the egg peeling Dad. I was listening to you and Sherry talk about going to Disneyworld with Dad and really wondering what that was like. He would have been so much fun.
Love to you all.... and it's almost Monday where is your Dad/Movie star post (excepting Becky)
